Sr. Systems Administrator, Sun Microsystems (Broomfield, CO), December 2005 - October 2008
Lab administrator supporting software developers. Responsible for deploying new systems, maintaining hardware of test systems. Maintained infrastructure systems, including NIS, DHCP, net-install server, web server (Apache and MediaWiki). Deployed and was responsible for backup server running EMC Networker 7.3. Worked with Extreme Networks switches, including layer 3 routing. Traveled to Beijing office to help with lab standardization.
Sr. Systems Administrator (contractor), AOL (Mountain View, CA), May 2004 - December 2004
Set up NIS and caching name servers at new company site in Bangalore. Responsible for writing documentation for new protocol, including test plan. Implemented system modifications for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Achieved and maintained compliance with high-profile software inventory system on over 300 servers. Provided 3rd-tier support for Solaris server issues.
Sr./Systems Administrator, Netscape/AOL (Mountain View, CA), June 1999 - August 2003
Supported Solaris servers for Business Applications group, working closely with web/application developers and Oracle DBAs. Responsible for all system and application issues on over 50 servers, and for over 300 as part of on-call schedule. Created a Solaris JumpStart server, cutting server install time in half, and driving server standardization. Installed new Solaris servers. Wrote Perl and shell scripts for system maintenance, and process automation. Set up and configured storage devices, including Sun A1000, and T3. Worked with NetApp filers.
As part of the Architecture team: Responsible for writing architecture documents and solution evaluations for initiatives within AOL, including asset management, and collaboration tools (calendar, file services, etc.)
Systems Engineer, Storage Computer (Berkeley, CA), November 1997 - May 1999
Provided post-sales customer support, including installation and configuration of new RAID systems, maintenance and repair at existing installations, and customer training. Worked with both SCSI and FC RAID devices. Was the only on-call support engineer on the West Coast. Provided on-site, non-emergency support to our largest customer, Netscape.

Managed a 14 user LAN with both NT and Novell servers. Planned and implemented the successful migration of all workstations from DOS to Windows 95. Oversaw database conversion.
